If you have consumed animal protein all your life, it is normal that starting a vegetarian or vegan diet can be difficult at first. However, you don't have to change overnight, and you can cut out animal protein at certain meals throughout the week. What is true is that many of us (and especially our planet) would benefit from a plant-based diet. I mean a diet based on more plant-based productswithout having to eliminate those of animal origin. Small steps can be taken, and one of the easiest, most practical and effective ways to achieve this is to start the day with a plant-based breakfast at least 5 times a week.

We present you different vegan breakfast options that will satiate you, and that will make you start the day in a healthy and delicious way.
Vegan breakfasts
- Wholemeal bread (check the ingredients for wholemeal wheat or wholemeal spelt or rye flour), with a nut butter (peanuts or almonds for example), with avocado.
- Vegetable milk (soy or oat) with oat flakes, nuts, and a square of dark chocolate (minimum 70%).
- A bowl of fruit, peanut butter and wholemeal toast with hummus.

It is true that compared to classic breakfasts, these vegan breakfasts have less protein, however, have much more fibre and real food. The argument that we need protein at every meal is wrong, we need to fill our requirement, however, we can get it throughout the day.
Most of us who are not vegetarians or vegans consume enough protein, but do not get enough of the nutrients provided by plant-based foods, such as magnesium, potassium and fibre.
