Salad in a jar is an excellent alternative to the tupperware that is becoming increasingly popular, as it is a convenient way to take our food with us when we have to eat away from home. Salads, in particular, are one of the most practical foods to carry and eat from a jar. That is why we invite you to try this idea with the recipe we propose below.

Your great ally if you eat out

There are a thousand ways to make a salad, at Weider we have designed one that is very complete and with the right proportions of carbohydrates, fibre and protein. To give it extra protein and to make the dish vegetarian at the same time, we added some croutons of Weider's protein bread, the Protein Bread, which contains an amount of protein on a par with beef or chicken. To this we have added egg and fresh cheese 0% fat, to achieve the protein you need for a meal.

On the other hand, this salad will provide you with a large amount of fibre thanks to the spinach, carrot and Protein Bread, which is rich in fibre.

Cherry tomatoes, radishes and a dressing of extra virgin olive oil, the best way to add good healthy fats to your salad, complement this salad with vitamins A, C and E, and other nutrients such as potassium, antioxidants and iodine, among many others.

Ingredients for the jarred salad:

  • 1 slice of Protein Bread
  • 5 g Spinach
  • 30 g grated carrot
  • 6 Cherry tomatoes
  • 4 Radishes
  • 60 g fresh cheese 0%
  • 1 hard-boiled egg
  • Olive Oil VE

Preparation:

- Toast the Protein Bread slice and then cut it into squares.

- Wash and chop the rest of the vegetables: spinach, carrots, tomatoes and radishes. We also cook the hard-boiled egg and peel and slice it.

- We take a glass jar and add all the ingredients in layers, leaving the Protein Bread croutons at the top so that they do not soften with the water released by the vegetables.

- Leave the house and take our jar home ready to eat, just in the absence of seasoning it with olive oil and a pinch of salt.
