Yule log

Because chocolate is a must this Christmas, we propose this version of the Christmas log recipe in a Fit version. Although it is not a fit dish as such, we have made it without added sugars so that you can enjoy it without so many regrets. And it is also a good source of calcium thanks to the skimmed whipped cream cheese we have added.

For this recipe we have used the Nut protein Choco Vegan Crunchy instead of other chocolate creams that are loaded with sugar. Weider's chocolate cream contains 21 % of protein and has a crunchy effect thanks to the integrated hazelnut pieces.

The Yule log dough is made with oat flour. Gourmet Oat Flour The Maria biscuit flavour, which in combination with the chocolate is even better. This is an ideal source of complex carbohydrates due to its low sugar content. Here are the ingredients and the step-by-step instructions for preparation.

Ingredients for a Yule log of 8 portions:

Preparation:

  • Mix 150 g oat flour Gourmet Oat Flour flavoured crackers with 125 g of whipped cream cheese, plus two eggs and whisk. 
  • Spread the dough on a baking tray previously greased with a little oil. Spread the dough all over the tray until you have a thin sheet of dough;
  • Bake at 180º for 25 minutes.   
  • Heat in the microwave 150 g of Nut protein Choco Vegan Crunchy until it is liquid.   
  • Mix the Nut protein Choco Vegan Crunchy liquid with the remaining 125 g of whipped cream cheese and mix until homogeneous in colour. 
  • Remove the dough from the oven, allow it to cool and spread the mixture of the Nut protein Choco Vegan Crunchy with the beaten cheese.   
  • Then, with the help of cling film, roll the spread dough into a roll and put it in the fridge for 1 hour.   
  • Remove from the refrigerator, unwrap from the paper, spread more Nut protein Choco Vegan Crunchy outside to cover and decorate to taste.   
  • And to eat!
